Grievance day for 2026 is Tuesday, May 26th, from 4pm-8pm. If you are unsatisfied with the assessed value after meeting with the Assessor you may submit the completed grievance form RP-524 and supporting documentation (a minimum of 3 sales comparisons within the last 1-3 yrs.) to the Assessor’s office on or before May 26th, to be reviewed by the Grievance Board. Complaint forms and information on “What To Do If You Disagree With Your Assessment” are available from the Assessor’s office after May 1st or online at: https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/contest/contestasmt.htm

Pursuant to Section 505, NYS Real Property Tax Law, the Assessor, Town of Jerusalem, County of Yates, N.Y. says: “I, the undersigned, do depose and swear that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, I have set forth in the Tentative Assessment Roll attached hereto or filed herewith, all the real property situated in the assessing unit in which I am Assessor and, with the exception of assessments made by the State Board of Real Property Services, I have estimated the value of each such real property at the sums which I have determined to be in accordance with the provisions of Section 305 of the Real Property Tax Law”.

TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL - NOTICE OF COMPLETION
Pursuant to Section 506, NYS Real Property Tax Law, the Assessor, Town of Jerusalem, County of Yates, N.Y. has completed the current year’s Tentative Assessment roll and has filed a copy thereof with the Office of Town Clerk/Assessor. Said copy is available for public inspection at the Jerusalem Town Hall, located at 3816 Italy Hill Rd., Branchport, NY during regularly scheduled workday hours through and including the 4th Tuesday in May this year. Said hours may be obtained by calling the Town Clerk or Assessor at (315) 595-2840. The Assessor has available upon request current publications containing assessment challenge procedures.
